Let's Talk Science strives
to improve science literacy through leadership, innovative educational
programs, research and advocacy. We motivate and empower youth to use science,
technology and engineering to develop critical skills, knowledge and attitudes needed
to thrive in our world. Let's Talk Science reaches hundreds of thousands of
youth and educators annually through its nation-wide science outreach.
Teachers in the Edmonton area can request to be paired with a volunteer from the University of Alberta. Our volunteers are mainly graduate students studying a variety of scientific subjects. This program is offered at no cost to teachers or volunteers, ensuring that all potential volunteers, teachers and schools have access to this excellent program. Volunteers normally visit the teacher’s classroom twice during the school year to explore science using hands-on, minds-on activities.
